Dec. 19th, 2018 Yeah Toast! Materials Needed: Toaster, loaf of bread (make sure you grab a gluten free option, just in case), assortment of condiments, butter knives. The Advent season and Christmas season are over. You're tired, your students are climbing out of the caves that they been in over Christmas break, and you're trying to think of a fun game to play that will ease everyone back into their "regularly scheduled programming". Why not start out with a funny and gross icebreaker? How To Play: Have everyone in your group grab a chair and circle up, facing inwards. In the center of the circle place a table that is large enough to hold a plate with a piece of toast, a knife, and condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo, horseradish, hot sauce, pickles, BBQ sauce, ranch, etc). In the nearest outlet, plug in a toaster with one piece of bread inside.
When you say go, start the toaster. One by one a participant will run to the middle of the circle and apply one condiment onto the toast. After they smother the toast in their preferred condiment, they will run back to their seat and the person next to them will go. The goal is to get back to your seat before the toaster in the background pops up. Whoever is standing while the toaster goes off has to take a huge bite out of the fully loaded/disgusting toast.
This game has no point but is a huge hit and a solid 7 on the gross-o-meter. Enjoy!
