The weekend before Thanksgiving, our Diocesan Youth Board gathered for the second time at Bishop Hodges Pastoral Center, welcoming some new members to this peer ministry team. High school teens from throughout the diocese came together in preparation for the Ignite youth rallies that they'll help run in January, February, and March. Much time was spent planning these exciting events, as well as in formation to become great peer leaders and ministers. They were given new tools for engaging in ministry that is welcoming, fun, and compassionate. They also got to spend time team building through prayer, fellowship, and an exciting adventure to Greenbank Observatory that helped them become inspired about our Ignite theme, REVEALED! We're appreciative to Fr. Arthur Bufogle who welcomed them for Mass at Snowshoe. Lastly, we are also grateful to the NET ministries team who was in our diocese at the time and led a mini retreat within the bigger context, praying over our teens and encouraging them to be empowered by the power of the Holy Spirit at work within them.
Charleston Area Young Adult Gathering
Last week, young adults from throughout the Charleston area gathered for this year's second edition of Stump the Priest and had a great time. They met at O'Charley's in South Charleston for an opportunity to aim questions at Fr. Joshua Stevens from Moorefield. Questions ranged from liturgical vestments, to bioethics, to current events in the Church. If you know any young adults who might want to become part of this community in the Charleston area, contact Morgan Yost at email@example.com.
