Last week we had one of the National Evangelization Teams (NET) in our diocese traveling around the state putting on retreats at various parishes and schools. NET Ministries retreats are designed for students in grades 7-12 and range from topics including In His Image, With Great Power, and Fully Alive. NET team 4 traveled to Clarksburg, Buckhannon, Hurricane, Weirton, Wheeling, Follansbee, and Huttonsville challenging young Catholics to love Christ and embrace the life of the Church through talks, small groups, skits, witnesses, and prayer experiences. We pray for this team of 11 young adults as they continue to travel the East Coast putting on retreats in a variety of other dioceses.
Country Roads TEC #1
Out of a spring retreat for the leaders of our three diocesan TEC programs, it was decided to move forward with one collaborative diocesan TEC initiative, and we're excited to say that the first Country Roads TEC was held earlier this month! 15 new TEC candidates were given the opportunity, through the servant leadership of peer ministers and volunteer adults, to immerse themselves in the experience of Christ's death and resurrection. They got to spend time in fun, in community, in conversation, and in prayer, all of which allowed them to know more about God's desire for us to share in the love and mercy we're offered through Christ's sacrifice on the cross and resurrection that lead us all to a home in Heaven.
