State-Side Celebrations
WYDDC.org The Archdiocese of Washington D.C. and several other Dioceses; including our own; have continued a tradition of holding a satellite event in conjunction with the Official World Youth Day. On January 26th, Young Adults are invited to gather at the National Shrine of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception on the campus of the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. for a day of prayer, cultural celebration, music, formation, fellowship with other Catholic young adults, and more. Registration is now open. Individual Tickets are $20 online ($30 at the door). For Campus or Young Adult Ministries, there is a group rate that will save some money. The Youth & Young Adult Ministry Office wants to assist with transportation to Panama in the Capital, but we will need to know in the next few weeks in order to organize what that might look like. |
Official WYD Site
https://panama2019.pa/en/home/ Taking a look at the Official World Youth Day Site. It will give you plenty of context for what it is and what it will be like for the pilgrims that make the trek to Panama. It also has resources like links to the live feed, topics that will be used in the Days in the Diocese, and logos, songs, prayers and more. |
WYD Resources from the USCCB
http://www.usccb.org/about/world-youth-day/index.cfm The USCCB has put together an extensive group of resources for us in conjunction with World Youth Day. Whether you are going to one of the stateside celebrations or just wanting to tie your parish into the festivities in some way, it will be a good place to get some ideas of what you can do. |
